Engagement Rate

In Google Analytics (GA4), engagement rate is an indicator that measures visitor interest in your website. Essentially, it measures the percentage of visitors who arrive at your website and don’t leave immediately, but at least take a look at its content or make an action.

More formally, Google Analytics considers a visit to be engaged if it lasts more than 10 seconds, or if the visitor visits at least two pages, or if a key event is emitted.

If you’re more familiar with the bounce rate, it’s simply its opposite. The engagement rate highlights visitor interaction, while the bounce rate highlights the absence of interaction.

In Linito, the choice has been made to display the engagement rate rather than the bounce rate, so that whatever values we look at in the dashboards (number of visits, visitors, etc.), if they are high or increasing over time, it’s always positive. In this way, when comparing two periods, an increase in the engagement rate is colored green, just like any other indicator that is increasing.
